now,about your concept picture:
it looks like coul turn out to a really good thing,but the character doesnt looks like it belongs to the game/background,u should change the character or the background(character changing is mutch easier too..)

It's been changed dramatically, have some more concept art but I dont' feel like posting it plus no one would want to see it...
